Through an example of precision agriculture, we will see how AI technologies can help increase crop yield and save farmers money. The demonstration features a gaming UI front end and an interactive touch screen that simulates drones flying over diseased and healthy crop fields (wheat, corn, potatoes) detected using a trained computer vision model. Based on diseased crop field detection, tractors will be directed on the shortest path to treat the diseased crop fields. This demo brings in elements of telco 5G slices, Edge Computing, Computer Vision and Operations Research, all orchestrated on OpenShift and developed with the help of OpenShift AI.
