In this video, you’ll learn how to secure GenAI applications that utilize open-weight models like DeepSeek-R1 with Amazon Bedrock Guardrails. These guardrails evaluate user inputs and Foundation Model (FM) responses according to policies designed for specific use cases, adding an extra layer of protection for the underlying FM. We will showcase using a distilled version of DeepSeek-R1 available on Bedrock via Bedrock Marketplace. The demonstration includes creating custom Guardrails for a fictional scenario and running tests to handle prompt injection attacks, restricted topics, and protect sensitive data. For this demo, we’ll employ the independent API called ApplyGuardrails provided by Bedrock Guardrails.
