Mexican designer Fernando Laposse has created creature-like sculptures using knotted sisal, a natural fiber derived from the leaves of agave plants. Laposse collaborated with members of the Tonahuixtla village in Mexico to find new uses for the local agave plant, while addressing concerns such as biodiversity loss. His work will be on show at Design You Can Feel, an exhibition curated by Dezeen for ASUS, which celebrates tactility in design and natural materials, and tells the story of Ceraluminum™, a ceramicised aluminium featured on the brand’s latest Zenbook laptops.
