Experian’s Data Office (UK&I) needed to modernize seven legacy applications running on older .NET Frameworks and migrate them to the cloud. These legacy systems were costly to maintain, slow to update, and hindering innovation. Manual upgrades would have been too time-consuming and required pulling engineers off high-impact projects. Adding complexity, the applications had custom libraries, integration dependencies (e.g., ServiceNow), and manual deployment processes — all while Experian pursued a concurrent AWS cloud migration. Experian used AWS Transform, an agentic AI service designed for modernizing .NET applications at scale, along with Amazon Q Developer Security Scan for vulnerability detection. They also adopted Amazon EKS for containerization, enabling scalable, secure application hosting. Key results: ~40% reduction in developer effort across the seven upgrade projects, and ~300 engineering days saved.
