Keynote: The Future for AI-First Enterprises is “Open” – How to Succeed and Not Get Left Behind – Manos Koukoumidis, CEO, Oumi
Enterprises that continue to stay in the shallow waters of prompt design on top of closed models behind an API (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.) will be overspending (greater than 10x) and getting out-innovated by their competitors as the landscape has shifted. Open models have caught up with closed models giving a path to both large enterprises and even small startups to control their AI destiny, innovate freely and develop their differentiation. The key challenge for them though remains in tooling as enterprises lack a platform that enables them to build with open (and closed) models end-to-end; from data synthesis/curation, to training and evaluation across any model family, scale and compute platform.
This talk will discuss the opportunity for enterprises that open source AI presents, the open source AI ecosystem challenges, and how Oumi can enable small startups, larger enterprises and the academic community alike to harness the full potential of open source AI; how to do research, build and go to production faster, cheaper, and more reliably.
