Mediaset is an Italian-based media company and is the largest commercial broadcaster in the country. Learn how Mediaset created the new voting system for popular talent shows in Italy within a 1 month and obtained 4x the number of votes (in millions). Mediaset transformed their on-prem platform into a hybrid model using VPN connectivity to leverage AWS Services architected with Amazon MemoryDB (Redis), AWS WAF, Application Load Balancer(ALB), AWS Fargate, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, Amazon S3, and Amazon CloudWatch. This enabled Mediaset to provide an Omni-channel Voting System to capture viewer’s vote via Mobile, websites, and connected TVs. Mediaset was able to launch their talent show broadcast to process millions of vote per minute without losing a single vote. They were able to scale up and scale down their broadcasting platform at the end of the show for cost savings on AWS.
