In this tutorial, we’ll learn how to configure a **System Message in an AI Agent using n8n** and give the agent access to tools like Calculator and Wikipedia.
You’ll learn how to instruct an AI agent to perform mathematical calculations using the Calculator tool and retrieve information using Wikipedia. We’ll also explore how the system message guides the agent’s behavior and helps it decide which tool to use based on the user’s question.
In this hands-on demonstration, you’ll understand:
– What a system message is in an AI agent
– How to configure system instructions in n8n
– How to connect and use the Calculator tool
– How to connect and use Wikipedia as a tool
– How an AI agent decides when to use a tool
– How to test your AI agent with practical examples
If you’re learning **Agentic AI and n8n automation**, this tutorial will help you understand how AI agents use instructions and tools to perform tasks beyond simple question answering.
