The 2023 update to all the best Node.js tips and strategies for Docker tooling. This year, new additions include adding the Node.js Wolfi image to a base image recommendation list (Zero CVEs!), Docker Scout image analysis for Node.js, and a Compose Sync setup for blazing-fast development. Bret Fisher also shows off the new docker init for new Node.js projects. For those who are not new to Node.js Dockerfiles, he walks through recent advancements in Dockerfile commands and frontends that are helpful for Node.js projects. As in previous editions of this talk, he covers process initialization (do we need init?) and graceful shutdown concerns with Node.js. He shows how to enhance Dockerfiles with multistage builds, and wraps up with GitHub Actions of Docker builds for Node.js
