These are all the cool new GKE releases/announcements from July. GKE Alpha clusters with feature gates is GA. Accelerated Patch auto-upgrades aims to speed up the auto-upgrade process for patches. Several improvements have been made to the rollout sequencing process to enhance the user experience and allow for self-resolution of ineligible upgrades. Maintenance Timeline in the Upgrade User Interface provides a visual timeline in the GUI to clearly show when automatic upgrades can and cannot occur. Enhancements: Extended support – Improvements have expanded eligibility to include clusters with Gateway API (v1.30+) and sysctl config (v1.28+). Starting GKE 1.33.2 you can use custom compute classes to define Kubernetes labels on the nodes.
