Twelve Labs is an AI research and product company that trains large, multimodal models that can understand videos like humans. Its AI models learn by watching many, many hours of video content and are able to help developers and enterprise users search for very specific moments within massive archives to summarize a whole archive. The unique challenge of training multimodal models on video is that it requires an incredible amount of compute resources. By training the large models with OCI’s AI Infrastructure with performant GPU node configurations and CPU memory storage, clustered together by an ultra low-latency RDMA network, Twelve Labs gained 5-10x efficiencies, which allowed the company to go to market at a faster pace than expected.
