Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer is a hybrid cloud platform for customers who desire cloud benefits and a cloud-based consumption model but require their databases to be located on-premises, behind their firewalls. Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer runs Oracle Exadata Database Service and Oracle Autonomous Database just like public cloud Exadata deployments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Data residency laws, industry regulations, corporate policies, security requirements, network latency, and the impracticality of moving databases away from other tightly coupled on-premises infrastructure all prevent customers from moving databases to the public cloud. Customers subject to these requirements can run Oracle Exadata Database Service in their own data centers on Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer, thus retaining full physical control of their data while leveraging the operational and economic benefits of the cloud.
