Wild Bio is investigating how plant roots could move more atmospheric carbon into durable storage pathways while maintaining a focus on crop yield. Its research includes precisely editing part of an existing soybean gene and exploring how the plant enzyme carbonic anhydrase can convert carbon dioxide into bicarbonate ions, potentially moving carbon into soil, watercourses, and longer-term storage pathways. Wild Bio is also developing yield enhancement approaches alongside its carbon removal trial.
